Open PositionsThe Graduiertenkolleg (Research Training Group) 1286 "Functional Metal-Semiconductor Hybrid Systems" is a university training program that is financed by the University of Hamburg and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft/German Science Foundation (DFG). It offers positions for excellent Ph. D. students.All Ph. D. students work on topical issues of a coordinated research program within an international oriented environment. Each student is embedded in a research group and supervised by at least two professors or senior scientists who will help to accomplish the Ph. D. project within three years. Ph. D. positions (3/4 E13)We are always looking for highly qualified and motivated students with an excellent degree (diploma, master or equivalent) in physics, informatics or mathematics who are interested to work in the fields of electron transport, optics and scanning-probe methods on nanostructured semiconductors, normal metals, ferromagnets, and superconductors. Details on the research program can be found here. You are obliged to participate in the qualification program. A good knowledge of the English language is required.The position is limited to a period of two years and can be extended by a maximum of one additional year. Starting dates are negotiable. Postdoctoral Position (E13)We are looking for a graduate with an excellent doctoral degree who is interested to work on micromagnetic simulations. We would appreciate it if you bring in new methods for the treatment of dynamic processes in ferromagnetic micro- and nanostructures. You should be willing to communicate and to cooperate, in particular, with the Ph. D. students of the Graduiertenkolleg. A good knowledge of the English language is required.The postdoctoral position is limited to a period of one year. An extension is possible. The salary will be according to the German civil services (E13).
