Nanostructure Physics - Open Positions

We are looking for motivated students who are interested in working in the fields of ferromagnet-semiconductor hybrid structures or semiconductors. Bachelor, master, diploma and Ph. D. theses are assigned regularly. Please feel free to contact us even if there are no concrete topics announced.

A project work has a duration of four weeks and replaces the practical course "Physikalisches Praktikum für Fortgeschrittene (Festkörperphysik, HF- und Mikrowellenphysik und Optik)". A group of two students will perform experiments in our laboratories under the supervision of research assistants. The experiments are embedded in our research program and will contribute in some parts to our ongoing efforts. The students will summarize their results in a report and present them in short talks within the seminar of the practical course and the group's seminars.

Spintronics

We combine semiconductors, ferromagnets and superconductors to obtain structures with new functionalities in view of novel devices for spintronics and magnetoelectronics. Micro- and nanostructures are prepared within the cleanroom and studied by various techniques such as transport measurements and magnetic-force microscopy.
