Airbus

The company Airbus is a leading aircraft manufacturer. With more than 11,000 employees Hamburg is the largest Airbus site in Germany and among the three leading aviation sites in the world. The participants visited the final assembly of the aircrafts A318, A319 and A321.

Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY)

DESY is one of the leading centers for research with particle accelerators and synchrotron radiation. The Hamburger Synchrotronstrahlungslabor (HASYLAB) provides excellent opportunities for interdisciplinary research, for example in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, medicine and materials science. In 2005 the innovative and unique vacuum-ultraviolet free-electron laser FLASH began to operate.
